Intently – Privacy Policy

Intently, operated by TLP Tech Ventures LLC ("we", "our", "us"), respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal data you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, with whom we share it, and the choices you have regarding your data.

We only collect data that is necessary for the purposes described below.

Information about other people – Intently lets you record information about people you date, who do not have an Intently account and have not agreed to this policy. We use that information only to provide the service to you. It is never shown to the people you write about or to other users, unless you choose to create a share link (see Section 4). Please only record information you are comfortable keeping and that you have a right to keep.

• Provide the service – Store and display your journal, run the AI features you request, sync your calendar, and suggest date venues.
• Security & fraud prevention – Detect suspicious activity, enforce our Terms of Service, and protect accounts.
• Analytics & improvements – Aggregate usage statistics (never personally identifiable) to enhance features and performance.
• Communications – Send transactional emails (e.g., password resets, account confirmations) and optional newsletters if you opt‑in.
• Legal compliance – Retain data as required by law or to respond to lawful requests.

• Service providers – We share limited data with vendors that run parts of the service for us: Fly.io (hosting), Stripe (payments), Mailgun (email delivery), and Google Tag Manager (analytics). They may only use it to provide their services to us.
• AI providers you choose – When you use an AI feature, the content needed for that request (such as connection details, notes, reflections, and your self-assessment) is sent to OpenAI or Anthropic, whichever you selected, using the API key you provided. That provider's terms and privacy policy govern how it handles the request.
• Google Maps – When you ask for venue suggestions, the location you enter is sent to the Google Maps Platform to find nearby places.
• Share links you create – If you create a share link for a connection, anyone with that link can view that connection's details, including name, age, birthday, job, location, hobbies, general notes, height, weight, Instagram profile, primary photo, and date history. The link works until you revoke it or it expires.
• Legal requirements – We will disclose data if required by a valid subpoena, court order, or other legal process.
• Business transfers – In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred to the new owner, provided they honor this Privacy Policy.

We do not sell your personal data to advertisers or third parties for marketing purposes.

Intently uses essential cookies to keep you logged in. On our live site we also load Google Tag Manager, which may set analytics cookies to help us understand how the site is used.

Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g., EU GDPR, California CCPA), you may have the following rights:

• Access – Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Rectification – Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Deletion – Delete your account at any time from Settings → Account, or ask us to do it for you.
• Portability – Download your data as CSV from Settings → Account.
• Objection / Restriction – Limit certain processing activities (e.g., direct marketing).

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at support@intently.now. We will respond within the legally required timeframe.

• Active accounts – We retain your data for as long as your account remains active.
• Deleted accounts – When you delete your account, we immediately and permanently delete your account and everything in it, including connections, dates, reflections, photos, ratings, and share links. This cannot be undone.
• Log files – Server logs (IP, timestamps) are retained for up to 90 days for security monitoring.

• In transit – All traffic to Intently is encrypted with TLS.
• Passwords – Stored only as bcrypt hashes. We cannot see your password.
• Journal content – Sensitive fields, including the details, notes, and photos of the people you date, your dates and reflections, your self-assessment, your AI API key, and your two-factor secret, are encrypted with AES-256-GCM before they are stored. The encryption keys are kept separately from the database.
• Limits – This is not end-to-end encryption. Intently's servers decrypt your data to show it to you and to send it to the AI provider you choose. Ratings, dates and times, and account details such as your email address are protected by access controls but are not encrypted at the application level.

No system can guarantee absolute security, but we follow established practices to protect your information.

Intently is intended for users 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe we have inadvertently obtained such information, please contact us so we can promptly delete it.

Our servers are hosted in the United States. By using Intently, you consent to the transfer of your data to these locations, where we apply appropriate safeguards (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses).

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any material changes will be posted within the app and, where required, communicated via email. The "Effective date" at the top reflects the latest revision.
